From Stockholm With Pride
As a brand born and rooted in Stockholm we love to celebrate the city and all that it stands for. So when it comes to Pride month it's exciting to see how invested our city is in the cause and all the wonderful array of events, celebrations, talks, arts programmes, festivals and so much more being put on.
On it's 25th anniversary, the theme for this years festival is ”Celebrate diversity” a theme that aims to pay tribute to all those who contribute to increased diversity in society in terms of identities, sexual orientation, religions, cultures, heritages and much more.
L&J are proud to be an ally of the LGBTQIA+ from our work with the Queer | Art charity to our collabs, we strive for a more inclusive society, where love and acceptance reign supreme. This year we'll be celebrating Pride in our home city of Stockholm for the next month and specifically during Pride Week from July 31st and August 6th.
Stockholm Pride Parade - Saturday 5th August
The Parade starts from Mariatorget and finishes at Östermalms IP with over 60 000 individuals taking part. The 4.5km parade includes a large number of carriages and decorated vehicles filled with hot gogos, amazing drag queens and queers of all persuasions.
Stockholm Pride Park - Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th August
Pride Park takes place in the heart of Stockholm at Östermalms. It is an oasis in the city, the meeting place in the middle of all the pride activities. The park mixes clowns with opera singers, upcoming stars next to world famous artists. Pride Park is the place where you meet new and old friends, hang out, watch art, listen to writers and artists. The nights are filled with sparkling colour and sound, and you will never want to leave.
Stockwig Drag Festival - Date TBC
Stockwig is Stockholm’s famous drag festival, returning for its second year. Expect fabulous Drag fun and frolics on an epic scale.
Stockholm’s gay party nights
You can pretty much find a gay party any night of the week in Stockholm but Pride week is when the scene really amps up with fan array of fabulous club nights, just a few of our faves include:
SLM – the fetish club Scandinavian Leather Men for men only
Patricia – The legendary Gay Sunday Night party on an old steamer
Club Backdoor – Three bars, three dance floors and an awesome sound system.
